Who is Kingsley?

Hello and welcome to my website, thank you for taking the time to read through.

From a young age I quickly began to observe how people's behaviour was shaped by the world around them and their life experiences, this left a significant mark in my heart and my mind. I matured and this sometimes - difficult world revealed herself to be more and more. My own observations and experiences increased my awareness of life's influence on psychological wellbeing and this then manifested into a desire to support others during the darkest and most difficult times of their life.

I have dedicated the last decade to the understanding of the human condition and our psychology. Focusing on mental health research, assessment, support, treatment and interventions. My academic and professional background has provided me with an advanced and scientific understanding of the multiple factors that can influence psychological wellbeing and mental health, creating an empathic, holistic and evidenced based psychotherapist.

So far I have enjoyed 10 plus years of experience as a mental health professional working in both primary and secondary mental health services within the NHS including Acute inpatient psychiatric hospitals , forensics , community and crisis mental health teams and psychology . 

 

As a qualified and registered core mental health professional (Registered with the NMC) I have years of quality expert working with individuals across the lifespan with varying levels of mental illness and psychological distress, providing me with extensive knowledge and expertise  in general mental health and emotional well-being maintenance, assessment and intervention putting me in a perfect place to provide you with high quality therapy, guidance and consultancy.

A core mental health professional is a person who has received a significant amount of specialist mental health training at degree level and who is registered with a professional body for instance ,  a Psychologist , Registered Mental Health Nurse , Registered Social worker and Psychiatrist

 

Whilst practicing as a core mental health professional I completed additional training over the years  (masters degree's and post graduate diploma’s) in psychology and psychological therapies, training as a psychotherapist.

I currently work in the NHS at senior level as a highly specialist senior psychotherapist & clinical supervisor working on a complex case pathway within a primary mental health service , which is my primary role.

As a psychotherapist I pride myself on transparency ,

passion, motivation and compassion. I maintain a non judgemental attitude to practice and treat each individual with the upmost respect, providing the same level of high quality therapy to each person. My approach to practice is solution focussed and we will work together to improve whatever difficult situation you may be going through.

1. I am accredited by the BABCP (British association for behaviour and cognitive psychotherapy UK(babcp.com).

2. I am accredited and actively registered with the NMC (Nursing and midwifery council UK). 

3. Member of the EMDR association UK.

4. Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

**The professional accreditations above means that I follow and adhere to strict , safe and ethical guidelines set out by these professional bodies. These professional bodies set a certain high standard for professionals to follow to ensure safe and quality practice.
